Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is a new multiplayer first-person shooter developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. It is a continuation of the 2015 game Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and will be the fifth passage operating at a profit Ops subseries, and additionally the fifteenth main part in the Call of Duty series. If the chronology is what interests you, this game takes place between the Black Ops 2 and the Black Ops 3.

Special Offer

Call of Duty: Black Ops Gameplay

There are no jetpacks, wall runs or thrusting in this game. It is 99% boots on the ground, and you can do a nice slide on your knees, which is pretty similar to the one from Black Ops 3, as well as swim in the water. There is also one specialist that has the ability that allows you to grapple hook.

Although you will not see much of it since each team can have only one of that person, it is still a great feature. The new health system overall provides you the better weapon balance for sure. Therefore, 150 health allows you to have, already mentioned, better-balanced weapons, more interesting things you can do with the integer numbers in the engine, and it slows down the gunfights by about one to two shots.

Because of that, there will be less leggy deaths and more actual gunfights where you fight people while aiming and making decisions, instead of just getting nuked and being blown up almost instantly.

Speaking of gunfights, you are never really out of the gunfight, since you can always fire your gun, no matter if you’re swimming or running. That’s a big plus because you will never be unable to react if an enemy attacks you. Besides, there are a lot of very unique weapons and attachments in COD Black Ops 4, and the new health allows for a wider range of weapon variety.

Compared to the Black Ops 3, they completely changed how the attachments work. Each gun has its own, unique set of attachments as well as one special attachment that you can only unlock for two points. The special attachment usually makes the gun quite beefy, but it is kind of expensive.

However, it is a good thing, and it adds a little more personality to the weapons and depth to the strategy.

Some more features of COD Black Ops 4

The mini-map has been completely overhauled in a way that will make you feel very surprised. In Call of Duty games, players tend to start at the mini-map a lot. That is completely understandable since it lets you know where all the players are. You just have to wait for a dot to pop up and you can see the players almost indefinitely far away.

The new mini-map has a fog of war – you don’t see enemies or their dots unless they’re actually in your field of vision or you’ve used some ability to give you that view. Overall, the new mini-map is really great. You will certainly stare at it much less and do more hunting of the people, which is great of course.

The control mode that they added to the game is downright amazing and it’s a very good advantage being a new competitive mode. It plays really well with the limited number of lives you have, so it’s got kind of a survival element. And the game as a whole gameplay wise has an overall good and smooth feel which is normal for Treyarch. And there’s definitely nothing that will break your sense of immersion while playing the game.

Moving onto the next amazing feature, there are three full Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Zombies maps – two with the new characters and one with the old ones. Zombies look completely insane, and they all have their own stories as well as full experiences. You also have zombies daily, weekly and monthly missions, so there’s a lot of content around zombies.

Also, the Digital Deluxe, the Digital Deluxe Enhanced, and the Pro Edition are available as well. They all feature a Black Ops Pass – special season pass, a bonus Zombies map (in addition to four more in 2019) as well as 12 multiple players and 4 unique characters for Blackout mode.

COD Black Ops System Requirements

It seems that the COD Black Ops 4 PC version is getting a great support. They have shown that the newest sequel of the Call of Duty Black Ops series looks great on the ultra wide multiple monitors, in 4K as well as in HD resolution and high frame rate.

For sure, we will have one of the best PC versions which we haven’t had in a very long period of time. As for the suggested Black Ops 4 system requirements, Intel Core i7-4770k processor along with 12GB of RAM memory and Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 (or 1060) graphics card is more than recommended for the best gaming performance and a powerful experience.

However, if you can’t afford having these particular specifications, Intel Core i5 and Nvidia GTX 1050 will do a solid job as well.

Pre-order Black Ops 4 and Release date

As for the release date, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is supposed to come out worldwide on October 12, 2018. It will be available for PlayStation4, Microsoft Windows and Xbox One.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 pre-order is available right now on CdKeys store at the price of just £35. Buy it now and you can save even 30%, since the original price will be £50. And if you’re still not sure that you want to buy it – worry no more.

Many people that already played beta version believe that the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is an amazing game with insane graphics and they just can’t wait to play and enjoy the whole game.

  • Haven’t played Call Of Duty in years since to me it seems like they’ve just been milking the game for all it’s worth + I’m not the biggest fan of the futuristic settings. However after reading this, the blackout mode they’ve added and the decent pre order price compared to previous Call Of Duty’s I’m actually considering getting this one as it looks like it’s going to be quite good!

  • This review has got me absolutely excited for call of duty now and I think I will get the game on both PS4 and Xbox due to your coverage here! Thanks for the review and I will read more of this content to see what dlc to consider.

  • I haven't enjoyed the last few Call Of Duty games. Its been too repetative. However, the new Black Ops 4 looks amazing and after reading this review i am definitely going to buy after hearing about the new features that make it differ from the previous games!
