The Lara Croft who appears in Shadow of the Tomb Raider has discovered a ton of new things and slaughtered an endless number of living creatures and now she is back to make her enemies fear her even more.

You might be satisfied that Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a similar style of we initially observed in 2013, just greater and with more added to it. Indeed, there’s nothing much that is changed significantly or being disposed of from the recipe.
Yet, while that implies this game holds a great deal of the parts that give Tomb Raider that fabulous, ageless feeling of discovery, it additionally implies that this blockbuster action-adventure game may begin to feel a couple of years old.

Many would say that the Shadow of the Tomb Raider looks good, but it doesn’t elevate itself above the Rise of the Tomb Raider
since there is nothing here that really masters the magnificence of the geothermal valley in the original game.

In this game Lara must turn into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be as she races to spare the world from a Maya apocalypse.
Lara travels to South America just soon after the ending of Rise of the Tomb Raider. And yes, she will raid some tombs, fight some bad guys and slowly, if the PR’s been accurate, come into her own as a character.

One of the many great features of this game is turning the Exploration Tags on or off, which adds a bit of danger.
Many of the animations, both in and out of combat do have some similarities to Rise of the Tomb Raider.
However, you have to be aware that you can’t expect everything to be fully different. Unfortunately, when you look at the locations, the previous game had more interesting ones. Overall, almost the entire game is based in the jungle and after a couple of hours, it can feel a bit monotonous.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Gameplay

As for the gameplay and the story, the new Tomb Raider starts where they all should have started. A bit after Rise of the Tomb Raider, she’s gotten herself into trouble, once again by setting the stage for the end of the world. Supposedly, she’s fresh off stealing an ancient relic that can maybe possibly bring on the apocalypse.

Lara comes right in the crosshairs of an organization called Trinity which also the relic for themselves so they can reshape the world if they combine it with another relic.

One element that rises above anything in any of the Tomb Raider games is the underwater sections, which are huge and require a bit of survival thinking as well. They are also very tense and fully 360 make them feel like an otherworldly place. It’s one of the few games where underwater levels really do add a feeling of exploring something unique and as large as your overworld areas.

When walking through the jungle or just exploring, you can hear all manner of environmental sounds that elevates the entire surrounding into feeling like you’re really exploring a jungle.
Very convoluted, you would say after reading this. While you investigate these main elements, you will see that this Tomb Raider’s story is refreshingly free of that constant narrative hanging moment and instead, shows both a micro and macro side of Lara’s actions as she plays out with the big cutscene moments.

It is also offsetting the more subdued telling of this fanatic person trying to fight the wrongs that she’s done as well as her continual discovering of new abilities.

And there’s no need to say how awesome those new abilities are. She can now stealth with the best, cover herself in a made up mud, hide in vines for unsuspecting enemies and she is even able to lower and rappel off rock faces, which offers a flexibility to the movement as well as the puzzle makeup.

You will learn how to master the unforgiving jungle, using it as your advantage and survive deadly puzzles in the tombs built to look even more terrifying.

As said before, the underwater sections are really massive with their own gameplay elements like hiding in underwater’s flora while having piranhas swimming over your head. These sections are also silent, as she can’t narrate obviously, and it offers you an excellent negative space to work with.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider System Requirements

When it comes to performance, playing the Shadow of Tomb Raider on PlayStation 4 in the resolution of 1080 is more than professional.
As for the Xbox, 1080p, 60fps or 4k at 30fps should do a great job.
Lastly, the system requirements for your PC are at least an Intel Core i7 processor or Ryzen 5 with good Nvidia GTX graphics card and 16GB of RAM memory.

Of course, this is if you want to satisfy suggested system requirements for this game and provide yourself the best experience possible.

The release date of this game was the September 14th and the price of the Shadow of the Tomb Raider for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is 59.99 dollars on Amazon. The game is also available on Steam, Bundle as well as on official Microsoft store and Cdkeys store.

Why should you buy the Shadow of the Tomb Raider?

If you liked the previous game and the challenging tombs that appeared in it, you will probably like this game even more.
All in all, it does have an interesting story as well as the music and sound effects.
There are a lot of unique elements in Shadow of the Tomb Raider and those underwater spots in this game really do show what somebody could do if they aimed and focused on creating an excellent game like this one.

Besides, the number of great reviews that this game already got says it more than a thousand words.
So, what are you waiting for? Buy this game immediately and experience a next level adventure!

  • I love the tomb raider games right from the beginning with PlayStation 1. I have yet to purchase a PlayStation 4 but my Nephew has one and I am sure he will be getting this game, I am glad to know this game is out now and I will be contacting him to see if he will be buying it soon. The atmosphere of the games are so exciting and I can imagine the PlayStation 4 version is brilliant.
